I created these fun watercolor leaf tags as a printable! Whoo! I love Halloween / fall so much and have been experimenting with decor and crafts this year! I think they would be perfect place cards for Halloween or even Thanksgiving. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to write directly on them or not so I used a black tag to write names. You could write over the leaf or even on the back to keep it more simple. I used twine to tie them on and wrapped extra around the stems to look like a pumpkin vine.
Can’t even believe I’m typing those words. How?! I’m trying to look forward at all the happy things to come and everything I love about this season (plus our WEDDING around the corner!)
These are a few of my favorite fall designs, all available in the shop.
Wishing you all the pumpkin spice lattes and crisp fall mornings.
Today I’m sharing some snaps from around the bungalow of how we decorated for Christmas. It’s all a little crazy, non-traditional, and colorful of course! I’ve slowly collected ornaments and things I really love over the past several years of having a house. This is the first year I really went all out and had enough to hang a hint of Christmas in each room. From fun garlands, to tiny lights, all of my favorite (mostly felt) ornaments to dressing the pup (lol). We always get a real tree right after Thanksgiving. I have a December birthday and always enjoyed the house being super festive when I was younger. It’s fun to carry on this tradition and I’m glad Hunter indulges me 🙂
I’ve linked or listed most of the items down below + made a little video too!
This pillow from Furbish is my favorite new purchase!
I can’t handle his cuteness and these amazing dog outfits by Wit + Delight for Target, the best!
The framed floral print in the background is a page from my gift wrap book in collaboration with Anthropologie. It fit in an 18×24 frame. I couldn’t bare to part with the paper so this was a perfect solution
A felt mistletoe from West Elm
This tassel unicorn is the most fun
An old vase my mom just gave me because I loved the illustrations so much. Complete with a peace lilly
Love this wooden tree from Target. I’m not sure of its intended purposes but I’m using it for cards!
Blades hot chocolate, obvi
Sprigs in the kitchen, already pulled out my cookie cutters, and a cute dishtowel / pot holder set from Kate Spade
And a just for fun little video. Subcribe to our channel right here
I’m so excited to share these festive gift wrap ideas and a cute little video we made!
Wrapping presents is definitely one of my favorite parts of Christmas. I used wrapping paper and gift tags from my shop and one roll from Target x Sugar Paper’s line (the red and gold) for larger presents since mine comes in sheets, not a long roll. I love gifting an ornament on top of the present or even a tiny gift like this J.crew barrette we clipped on. Using greenery, pretty ribbons, and fun tags are all great ways to spruce up your package.
Watch out video on YouTube right here and subscribe to our new channel! We’ve got some fun things in store for the new year!
Gift Wrap: Shannon Kirsten & Sugar Paper // Gift Tags: Shannon Kirsten // Velvet Ribbon: Etsy (random shops, just do a search for velvet ribbon) // Bakers Twine: Michaels // Barette: J.Crew // Unicorn Ornament: Anthropologie // Pine & Rosemary Sprigs cut from my garden and Christmas Tree 🙂
Happy Monday! Hope you had a great kick-off to December weekend! I love that December 1st was on a Friday this year, I feel like everyone was out shopping, decorating, and there were lots of local events. We had our annual open house art show Saturday and Sunday was my birthday so we spent it relaxing and enjoying our favorite brunch (happy birthday to my fellow Sagittarius / December babies)! This is truly the most wonderful (and busy) time of the year hence the radio silence lately. I thought I’d pop in today and share some favorite snaps from our holiday catalog this year. You can shop all of our holiday items on Etsy right here
Happy Weekend! Here is a super easy treat to make for a Halloween gathering or just keep on hand for general snacking purposes. The sweet and salty combo is perfect.
In a large mixing bowl add 4 cups of chex cereal, 2 cups of pretzels, and whatever mixed nuts your heart desires (we used raw unsalted almonds, cashews, and walnuts). Add a cup of honey, 4 tablespoons of cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of pumpkin spice seasoning. Stir to evenly cover the dry ingredients. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper evenly spread out the mixture and bake for about 25 minutes on 350 degrees. Once the mixture cooled we added candy corn and coffee nut M&M’s. I did about a half cup of each but you literally can add whatever you want, this is not a recipe you can really mess up. You could also follow a traditional chex mix recipe and add in the Halloween candy but I was trying to keep ours a little lower cal.
I love how sweet and candid our family photos turned out. They are very ‘us’. I wanted to have some before Blade gets huge and have a cute photo to make Christmas cards with, of course! I chose an off-beat color palette, my dress served for inspiration there. I hand lettered over the photo on one side and created a leafy ombre pattern with watercolor for the back. I used the Aubergine envelopes from Paper source with a gold paint pen for addressing! The botanical stamps from usps.com are my favorite ever.

Tis the Season! A few festive snaps of holiday decorating around the house!
I love getting a real tree every year and cutting branches off to put in vases around the house. Smells so good in every room.
I didn’t do a ton of decorating because we’ve been renovating the kitchen, started re-doing / fixing the fire place, and trying to clean out for the new year so I wanted to keep things simple (hence why I’m not showing you the full fireplace and stockings because the bottom of the fireplace is currently a disaster and half painted).
And yes, there are 5 stockings…Hunter, myself, and one for each pet. We’re that type. lol. All of which are from Target. I got them last year and much to my delight they had the same ones again this year so I grabbed another for our new (puppy) addition. Must all match, of course.
Pre-decorating mess at the studio aka using everything as props first!
Favorite ornament I picked up this year, a unicorn reindeer from Anthropologie
Sprigs in the kitchen (all hardware and pot holder from Anthropologie)
(brass vase from Target // concrete candle holders old from Anthropologie // brass candle holders are thrift store treasures)
Majority of ornaments: Anthropologie (from over the years!) // Milk & Cookies and Camper Ornament: Land of Nod // Faux Fur tree skirt, stockings, star topper, Blade’s tree hat, and gold bells: Target // Curtains: Urban Outfitters // Gift Wrap: All prints in my shop
Hope you all are enjoying the holiday season!
I’m so thrilled to be part of the Nordstrom pop in this year for the holidays! We got to visit the store at Tyson’s Corner when we were in DC last weekend. My sisters went to the one in San Francisco and took some of these photos for me. Select holiday cards, gift wrap, and gift tags can be found at the following Nordstrom pop ins through the end of the month:
Downtown Seattle, Washington
Michigan Avenue, Chicago
San Francisco Centre
Tyson’s Corner, Washington, DC
Norhpark, Dallas, Texas
Vancouver, BC Canada
Toronto, ON Canada
Boxed sets of cards are available on Nordstrom.com
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!
I’ve been in the holiday spirit early, likely due to decorating the studio to take some of these festive product shots with Blade! I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner. I tried to refrain from decorating the house until after Thanksgiving so I will certainly be looking forward to getting our tree up this week.
Since it’s cyber Monday,we’re having a big sale in the shop for today only! All stationery is 30% off! Use code ‘CYBER30’ at checkout.
So excited about our holiday gift wrap this year! It’s up in the shop and you can purchase some here (along with more gift wrap prints that could also be used for the holidays!). Some of the gift tags and holiday cards coordinate with the wrap patterns. So fun!
Hope you all are enjoying fall as much as we are over here. It’s been delightfully breezy (for Florida) in the mornings and evenings. It’s been extra nice since we now have this little guy who wants to walk and play outside all day long.
Enjoy my random snaps from the past week at home and in the studio. We took Blade to the pumpkin patch the other night and it was adorable!
Little winter illustrations, just for fun!
Always love the heirloom pumpkins.
A favorite Thanksgiving print (and now a card) in the shop
Blade visiting Camilyn Beth‘s studio. Nicole and Cami made him look extra handsome!
Last week we had to get our house tented for termites. It was such a process to pack up the pets and move them to my parents for the week, arghh! But the positive was getting to leave them there and go home to do a deep cleaning. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to clean my house without a pet in it (aka more fur dropping as I vacuum, ha). I also did a tiny bit of decorating with these pillows and cute velvet pumpkins from Target. The cable knit pillow is West Elm, graphic one is Target, sequin cat is Pottery Barn Teen, and the skull I got on my trip to Iceland last year 🙂
Have a beautiful weekend!
If you’re up for some mad holiday baking this week, I highly recommend this simple and delicious cookie bark. It’s pretty ridiculous and super easy to make!
A few favorite holiday pins from the past couple weeks. Some of these images are so cozy and make me excited for cooler weather to come. Decorating wise, we kept it simple this year. I’m loving the geometric ornaments and advent calendars. I plan to wrap with kraft paper, twine, and a bit of greenery. I love making handmade tags or adding some type of extra special touch on packaging. Mismatched red plates would be so cute for holidays parties. Also, I haven’t baked a bit yet…I need to find something peppermint / chocolate filled and get to work!
